Ben Ward – Founder
I started my carpentry apprenticeship in 2001 in Perth WA, having enjoyed woodwork at high school. I studied at Midland TAFE and and gained an apprenticeship through HIA Apprentices. I quickly got a feel for how the industry works. I did my first two years as a roofer, and completed my apprenticeship with a formworking company, doing the odd renovation on the side. After completing my apprenticeship, I travelled to Melbourne in 2005 to work as a window installer for a renovation and maintenance company. Here is where I feel I truly learnt my craft. I loved every minute of it.
I also travelled to South Australia and Tasmania for projects during this period of time. In 2009, I decided with my wife Nicole we would start our own business, Ward’s Carpentry was born. Carpentry has taken me all around Australia and back to Perth where we have started our own family. It’s a family run business and we pride ourselves on it. I believe the experience of travelling and having worked in different areas has really helped broaden my knowledge base. in 2013 I received “Best Carpenter" from ‘National Carpenters’ Competition for WA. A great achievement which I am very proud of. I maintain the attitude that my work speaks for itself and I always aim to keep my customers happy and coming back for years to come.
